I just began reading this novel.  Maybe I’ll come back to this post and amend it; maybe not.

Here’s how the publisher presents the book:  The Memoirs of John F. Kennedy: A Novel brings to life the tantalizing possibilities of “what might have been” had JFK remained president after November 22, 1963. This book imagines an America where progressive leadership takes hold during the 1960s, where President Kennedy, after a grueling fight for his life in a Dallas hospital, survives his chest wounds and returns to the presidency. He is elected for a second term.

You’ve got to be impressed by a new novel that has a five-star rating (14 reviews as of this date),

Donald Lawn, the author, asks, “…what sort of world would we inhabit if, thirty-seven years earlier, John F. Kennedy had recovered fully from bullet wounds and gone on to fulfill a second term as president? How many times has the question been asked about his potential impact on world history? In looking through the available literature, no one appeared to have answered the question adequately. So, rushing in where angels feared to tread, I attempted to fill that gap with this novel, posing that perpetual question regarding 11/22/63, ‘What if…?’”

… and so far, I’m hooked.
